Calculations

Here are some easy calculations to work out how much product you will need.

Square meters:
Length x Width = M2 (measure the length of the area and multiply it by the width of the area to work out how many square meters you have)

Cubic meters of product:
M2 x Depth required = M3 of product required (take your square meters measurement and multiply it by the depth of product you require eg 75mm = 0.075, this will give you the amount of cubic meters you require.)

Frequently Asked Questions

Below you will find some frequently asked questions from our customers. Hopefully this will clarify any questions that you have regarding our wood or our delivery procedures. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact us 7 days a week.

What sort of wood do you sell?

We sell only seasoned Ironbark which is supplied to us from a reputable supplier. As a member of the Firewood Association of Australia, member no. 46 we ensure that the wood you are getting is quality.

What is the moisture content of your wood?

For wood to burn well the moisture content needs to be less then 25%. Our wood is tested on site once the load arrives and is generally between then 10-15% making the wood burn much hotter and for longer, also making it easier to light.

What do you mean by ''Seasoned"?

Firewood needs to be seasoned before it can be burnt to allow the wood to dry out and harden up. Freshly cut "Green" wood will not burn well and will create a lot of smoke. All of our wood has been seasoned for at least 7 years.

What days do you deliver?

We deliver 6 days a week from 7am (Monday - Saturday). When placing your order please note your preferred day and time via email once order is placed. Times are as follow: 7-9, 9-12, 12-4, Morning or Afternoon. We will do our best to accommodate your requests but can not always deliver to a specific time due to the large number of orders.

Is there a delivery charge?

Yes, there is a delivery charge on all orders of firewood from our yard. We do however offer free pick up from our yard. Please select your suburb when placing your orders online. Click Here for delivery charges.

I have tight access or a narrow driveway?

We offer a ute delivery only service for $25. Provided that your access can allow a standard sized ute in, we will be able to do this for you. Please request this service when ordering. If a ute delivery is required, but not requested there may be additional charges. Ute only deliveries are phone order only. No online ordering.

What size is your wood?

Logs are split and cut to a ready-to-use size of 250mm - 350mm, approximately the size of a loaf of bread some pieces slightly bigger or smaller. Unfortunately we do not split wood any smaller and we do not hand pick smaller loads.Do you have any wood other than Ironbark?Ironbark we stock year round. However as the firewood season rolls on we do get other varieties of wood into the yard. Please call or email us to enquire what varieties of wood we have in stock when placing your order.

Can I pay for my order COD?

Cash on delivery is fine, however you will need to call us on (02) 9986 1223 to place your order as online orders require payment via credit card. COD orders are strictly cash before any goods are unloaded. Unfortunately, we do not accept cheques of any kind. Direct debit can be arranged. Please contact us for our details.

Q/ What days and times do you deliver?

A/ We deliver Monday - Saturday from 7am. You can request a time for your delivery based on the following time brackets 7-9am, 9-12pm, 12-4pm or simply morning or afternoon. We will try our best to cater to your needs but exact delivery times cannot be guaranteed. Contact for more specific information.

Q/ How do I request delivery?

A/ When placing your order in the checkout phase there is a comments section to enter your requested time and day, also any specific instructions for delivery. If no request is made we will make delivery at our earliest available position based on your location.

Q/ Do you deliver into our property?
A/ Our driver will deliver into your property as far as possible provided that the driveway is safe and there are no trees or power lines in the way. These are at the drivers discretion. Someone will need to be present at the time of delivery to allow our drivers onto your property otherwise deliveries will be left on the nature strip. All care will be taken while on your property but no responsibility will be taken for damage done whilst there.

Q/ Do you move the soil and other bulk products around the back of the house?

A/ No. At the point in time we do not offer a service such as this. Our service is a delivery only service, we do not spread mulch, lay turf etc. If you require these services please contact us and we can provide you with a reputable contractor in your area.

Q/ Am I able to pick up my order?
A/ Provided that you have a vehicle that can hold the ordered amount pick up can be arranged. Please contact us to find out more.

Q/ Can you tip from the side of the truck?

A/ All of our truck have rear tipping only

Some handy tips to make life easy:

- Volume is calculated by Length x Depth x Width

- There 1 cubic metre = 1000 Litres
- 1 cubic metre of product covers 10 square metres to 100mm thick
- 1 cubic metre of garden mix = approximately 1.2 tonnes
- 1 cubic metre of mulch = approximately 300kg

and don't forget, all our bulk supplies have a handy calculator to help you estimate how much product you will need.

Four Seasons Nursery and COVID-19

With the ever-changing situation regarding business closures throught out the COVID-19 Crisis, Garden Centres have been classified as 'Essential Businesses'. There has never been a better time to get outside and tend your garden. It is great for your physical and mental health, especially when you are stuck inside all week.

All Four Seasons Garden Centre stores will be operating normal hours. We will let you know more as things change but at this point we will be sticking to the Social Distancing rules, allowing 1.5m / 4m2 per person and limiting contact with customers directly.

Some small things that can help our staff stay safe:

Please do not give your phone to a staff member/expect them to hold your phone to look at photos. Either open your phone and leave it on the counter for staff to view or email photos to the store.
Please respect staff's social distancing space and understand that they are unable to serve you to the usual standard
We have well above average foot traffic in store. Please spread through the stores and do not queue around counter areas. All registers will be open and we will serve customers in an orderly fashion.
If you feel unwell or are visibly sick, please shop online via www.fourseasonsnursery.com.au. Place your orders there or call your local store and staff will be on hand to serve you over the phone. We can arrange delivery or a pick up by a healthy family member or friend. Staff will not serve any customers displaying any symptoms.

We stock a large range of 4mm irrgation fiitings to suit all your needs. 4mm is used from micro sprays, short runs of dripline, individual drippers and green wall irrigation.

We stock drip line, poly pipe, fittings and heads for most applications.

13mm Irrigation

We stock a large range of 13mm irrgation fiitings to suit all your needs. 13mm is used from larger spray heads, individual drippers but its main use is for drip line. Drip line is perfect for most garden beds as it allows for maximum water penetration with minimal water loss due to spray drift.

Top five reasons to choose a lightweight pot;

More choice in colours, shapes, patterns and texture than plastic pots.
Don’t listen to your wife, size matters! We have lightweight pots available that are 1.8m long!!! See Grandelight Low Troughs
They are a similar strength to concrete pots in terms of cracking. So if your planting Ficus or bamboo you shouldn’t be to concerned about this.
They won’t break your back OR your bank, generally lightweight pots are a similar price or sometimes cheaper than regular terracotta, glazed or concrete pots.
Are easily moved if you happen to decide that your herb garden needs more sun in the winter, or if you decide that your indoor pot plants should be moved to a different part of the house to cheer up another room.
